This picturesque site lies on historic farmland once part of old Chrysotile, where traces of the orchard still linger under the canopy. During wetter months, a 30-foot waterfall cascades down the canyon wall, creating a serene backdrop for campers and wildlife alike. With its open field, soothing water sounds, and abundant birdlife, Waterfall Pasture blends rustic charm with natural tranquility — an ideal spot for relaxing in the shade or exploring the creek’s edge.
Nestled in the remote slopes of Tonto National Forest, Ash Creek Canyon near Chrysotile, Arizona offers secluded creek side campsites on private land—perfect for tents, overlanders, and small RVs up to 25ft. Follow the winding Ash Creek through rugged canyon walls, spot native wildlife amid biologically rich terrain recognized by Arizona Game & Fish, and explore nearby hiking trails and historic mining remnants.

Private Sites: Only 7 dispersed campsites in 420 acres of private property, camp along the creek, by canyon lookouts, or by waterfalls. Each campground has a stone fire ring and log seats.

Natural Features: Towering cliffs, year-round water, diverse plants/birds—prime for lots of various adventures and stargazing with the extremely dark remote canyon.

Access: High-clearance recommended; 4×4 ideal for off-main-trail spots. No hookups, pack-in/pack-out.
Set up under the stars, hike at dawn, or journal canyon history—raw Arizona wilderness just minutes from Globe. Pets welcome on leash; follow Leave No Trace. Wifi service, including calls over wifi available at two central areas in the canyon (Rental Cabin and Camp host cabin). There is also Cellular service on many of the high road within the canyon.
